Highly regarded for finding strategic solutions for clients in complex or unique situations, Kim has particular experience navigating the skilled, employer sponsored and temporary activity visa frameworks. Kim also assists clients in complex situations including visa refusal and cancellation matters, and review applications in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Kim’s passion for helping the vulnerable shines through in her work with a range of not-for-profit community organisations who provide support and assistance to migrants, including refugees and victims of family violence. Her community contributions were recognised by receiving the 2019 Young Australian Migration Lawyer of the Year Award from the Law Council of Australia, and the 2021 Pro Bono Legal Award from the Law Society of Tasmania.
Promoting greater understanding of migration law issues drives Kim in her roles as Vice President of the Migration Institute of Australia’s Victoria / Tasmania Branch, and as a University Associate at the University of Tasmania. A sought after presenter on topics including visas, Kim contributes to ongoing migration law education for migration professionals, employers, law students and migrants.
Balancing her very busy practice is important and in her spare time Kim is an accomplished musician, needlecrafter, and devoted Mum to her bulldog, Rosie.
